This sculpture was created especially for Tulsa's 2001 Pink Ribbon fund drive for breast cancer research. I have named the young girl Laurel because the laurel is an old symbol of victory. This young girl has her whole life ahead of her. She is barefoot, dancing, and joyful! Her hair is encircled in a garland of flowers. To me, she symbolizes our ongoing victory over breast cancer.
