Legacy of Literature

Recommended for placement at libraries, retirement centers, or organizations that work with retired persons and/or children.
Note that any saying, poem, names, etc can be written in the pages of the open book. This is an aspect that can personalize the sculpture for the buyers or for its placement.

This sculpture was commissioned by the Helmerich Library of Tulsa, Oklahoma, for their front garden. The sculpture reflects the research that revealed that the two populations who most use the local libraries are retired persons and children.

I incorporated a strong triangular composition in the placement of the three figures. As in all of my work, I strive to capture character qualities on the faces and in the gestures of each person represented.
